Clean your desk day.

3 Tips for working from home

Do you sometimes feel like you are always at work? It’s a big problem for many people who work from home. So you can’t relax and rest even when you are not performing any tasks. Because your work is also your home. Here are 3 working tips for working from home from experienced freelancers how to stay productive and stop living at work.

1. Create a routine for getting into work mode.

Only if you repeat the same routine over and over again every day it will become a ritual for starting work.

For example:

  • check emails or plan a day over a cup of coffee;
  • go outside to get coffee and return back home (imitating commuting to an actual office);
  • set up your desk, prepare everything your need and remove unnecessary distraction.

All these will tell your brain it’s time to be productive.

2. Dedicate a particular place for work.

Make sure you don’t watch movies, eat or do anything besides work at this place. Having a dedicated work place at home will let you feel relaxed in other places, but concentrated when you are ‘at work’.

3. Set a routine for finishing work.

Same as telling your brain to start the work, you need to turn it off at the end of work or you won’t be able to disconnect from tasks and relax. For example, you can:

  • plan your next day;
  • do physical exercise to refresh and empty your brain;
  • clean your desk after the day.
