Upwork hasn’t surprised us with any major updates recently. Although the general obsession with AI is definitely having its influence on the platform - everything new from Upwork in July seems to be connected with AI.

Here are more details on 3 Upwork AI Updates:

On July 19 Upwork announced Upwork partnered with Jasper AI content platform.

They offer freelancers an exclusive 30-day extended free trial with very useful functionality:

High quality content creation, improvements and repurposing
Content translation in more than 30 languages
AI assistant available 24/7 to quickly research your target market and brainstorm ideas
You can also teach Jasper to recognize your unique voice and style, so you can stay on-brand across your content
End-to-end marketing campaigns inluding blog posts, email sequences, or Facebook ads

2. Starting Jul 11, a new Upwork AI Services hub is now available.

This is basically a separate page in the client’s category navigation bar that shows all the way Upwork leverages AI for the clients:

It features a list of freelancers who have AI expertise (AI developers, AI content creators, AI art, data experts).
Shows a special banner urging to create a job post with AI-powered job post generator.
Links to 3 categories from the Project Catalog: Machine learning, Generative AI and Chatbots.
Offers to start a conversation with a new Upwork OpenAI powered chat.

3. OpenAI Experts on Upwork program launch on July 31

OpenAI and Upwork partnered to co-design the OpenAI Experts on Upwork program. On the program site, businesses can connect with these experts to start exploring the OpenAI platform and integrating their technologies into their products and services. Inclusion in the OpenAI Experts on Upwork program is invite only. Experienced AI experts can submit the OpenAI Experts on Upwork interest form share their profile with Upwork team.
