Upwork Connects for Interviews Won:
What changed?
Upwork wants to reward freelancers for doing a good job. So, in the past, they gave free connects for every interview won. Unfortunately, some users took advantage of this opportunity and were gaming the system to earn free Connects.
3 days ago, Upwork rolled out an important update aimed at stopping such practices. Here is more about it.
Upwork Connects for Interviews Won: What changed?
- Upwork is no longer awarding free Connects for every interview won;
- They are no longer disclosing the number of Connects rewarded in these cases.
At the same time, Upwork says that freelancers still receive free Connects (the number may vary) when they win an interview with an established client on Upwork.
What does this mean? Freelancers won’t get free connects for interviews won with new clients on Upwork.
So, as we’ve always stressed, check the client history on Upwork before making a bid, and everything should be good.
Overall, we think it’s a good update! There should be fewer fake job posts now on Upwork that freelancers might be wasting connects to apply for.
