Brand Style Guide Design

In today’s competitive market, a strong and consistent brand identity is essential. Our client, Premium Kiln Dried Firewood Company, had only a logo and a set of colors. To help them grow and communicate effectively, we created a complete Brand Style Guide — building all other visual elements from scratch.

About the Project

The company needed a professional style guide that would not only define its visual identity but also provide practical tools for consistent communication. With only the logo and color scheme in place, everything else had to be designed: from palettes and typography to icons and supporting graphics.

Tasks

  • Define the structure and mandatory pages of the guide
  • Create palettes, font pairings, and additional symbols
  • Design icons to match the brand’s tone
  • Integrate photos into the guideline
  • Explore custom illustrations (concepts were developed but not finalized)
  • Combine all elements into one comprehensive style guide

Working Process

We began with the fundamentals — color palettes, typography, and symbols. Once those were approved, we moved to the icon set, deciding which icons should be included and how they should look.

At the same time, we explored custom illustrations. While the client decided not to proceed with them, we integrated provided photos into the guide for added personality.

A remarkable element of the process was the creation of a stamp sign, combining the company’s initials “CC” with a style inspired by traditional cattle branding in the US. This gave the brand a unique, memorable symbol directly tied to its name and heritage.

Results

The final brand style guide provided the client with a clear and consistent visual identity, including:

✔ Logo variations and a unique stamp sign

✔ Custom symbols and icons

✔ Integrated photos

✔ Structured layout for easy application

The result is a professional tool that ensures all communications align with the company’s brand look and feel.
